Normally, in Team Mode, each summoned mech must be different; for example, if one teammate calls Hotsteel, another teammate cannot call Hotsteel. However, in Duo Mode, it's possible to summon the same mech.
Fixed with the 5 October evening update: in a duo the mecha your teammate has called is greyed out on your list, and the server refuses a second one of the same kind. A Mecha Reset Unit frees it again. Please retest and tell us how it behaves.
